The original schedule proposed by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) indicated a start date of March 14. Despite reports, broadcasting sources have denied making such a request. Instead, the revised dates ensure ample preparation time post the Champions Trophy.

Key Venues and Matches

Eden Gardens, home to the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and winners of IPL 2024, will host both the opening match and the final. This aligns with the IPL tradition of hosting marquee matches in the reigning champion’s home city. Additionally, the SunRisers Hyderabad, runners-up in 2024, will host two playoff matches, adding to the excitement.

The BCCI recently concluded a Special General Meeting in Mumbai on January 12, at which Devjit Saikia was elected secretary and Prabhtej Singh Bhatia treasurer.
